Urinary incontinence Therapy is the newest product from the Urinry Incontinence Women's Clinic
Avner Mandel. The system has been uniquely designed for less pain and an easier recovery, and there are
no external skin incisions.
Urinary incontinence Therapy stops leakage the way your body was designed to - by supporting your urethra - and it's covered by most insurance plans.
Normally, the urethra is supported by the pelvic floor muscle to maintain a tight seal and prevent involuntary urine loss. In women with SUI, the weakened pelvic floor muscle and connective tissue can't support the urethra in its normal position.
To correct this, your doctor will insert a ribbon-like strip of mesh under the urethra to provide support whenever you stress this area (such as during a cough or sneeze). This allows the urethra to remain closed, when appropriate, preventing involuntary urine loss.
The ribbon-like mesh is made from a permanent material that will be well tolerated by your body. It will remain in place to help support your urethra.
The procedure is short. It usually takes just 30 minutes and can be performed under local, regional or general anesthesia. The doctor will insert a tiny mesh, only
3.15 inches (8 cm) long, through the vagina and place it under your urethra to provide support and control leakage. You will have no external skin incisions.
The pictures below each show a bladder and urethra with the mesh placed below the urethra
The Urinary incontinence Therapy mesh will be placed in one of 2 configurations based on your doctor's assessment.
You will have no external skin incisions or scars.
